Certifications & Compliance

Certified Management.
Clearer Global Cooperation.

Reliable international cooperation requires more than product performance. Customers also need structured quality management, responsible production practices and documentation that can support purchasing, evaluation and market requirements.

  • ISO 9001:2015Quality management system
  • ISO 14001:2015Environmental management system
  • ISO 45001:2018Occupational health and safety

MICHEM operates certified quality, environmental and occupational health and safety management systems. These management frameworks support the way we organize production, quality control, environmental responsibility and workplace safety.

Combined with physical testing, application evaluation and international supply experience, they provide a stronger foundation for long-term customer cooperation.

Management Systems

Our Management System Certifications

MICHEM’s management systems are certified to three internationally recognized ISO standards.

Quality Management System

ISO 9001 provides a structured framework for managing quality-related processes and customer requirements.

For MICHEM, this framework supports the connection between product requirements, production management, quality evaluation and customer service.

It helps establish a consistent approach to:

  • Reviewing customer and product requirements
  • Managing production-related processes
  • Defining quality responsibilities
  • Evaluating product conformity
  • Maintaining relevant quality information
  • Responding to quality issues
  • Supporting continual improvement

ISO 9001 certification does not replace product testing. It provides the management framework within which production and quality-control activities are organized. MICHEM further supports product quality by conducting physical and application testing on every batch before shipment.

Environmental Management System

ISO 14001 provides a framework for identifying, managing and improving the environmental aspects of business operations.

This certification supports MICHEM’s structured approach to environmental responsibilities within its management and production activities.

The system provides a basis for:

  • Identifying relevant environmental aspects
  • Defining environmental responsibilities
  • Managing applicable operational controls
  • Considering environmental requirements in business activities
  • Monitoring and reviewing environmental performance
  • Supporting continual environmental improvement

Environmental requirements may differ by activity, product and market. ISO 14001 provides the management structure through which these responsibilities can be addressed systematically.

Occupational Health and Safety Management System

ISO 45001 provides a framework for managing occupational health and safety responsibilities.

It supports the identification of workplace risks, the definition of responsibilities and the implementation of appropriate management measures.

Within MICHEM’s operations, the system provides a structured basis for:

  • Identifying relevant health and safety risks
  • Establishing operational responsibilities
  • Supporting employee awareness
  • Managing workplace safety requirements
  • Reviewing health and safety performance
  • Promoting continual improvement

A safe and responsibly managed working environment supports more stable operations and long-term manufacturing capability.

Customer Value

What These Certifications Mean for Customers

Management system certifications do not describe a single product characteristic. Their value lies in the way they support the organization behind the product.

For MICHEM customers, certified management systems provide greater confidence that quality, environmental and workplace responsibilities are managed through defined structures rather than informal practices.

They support:

Organized industrial production hall with defined work zones and safety barriers
Defined processes behind regular production
  1. 01

    More Structured Quality Management

Product requirements, production and quality evaluation are connected through an established management framework.

  2. 02

    Clearer Responsibilities

Relevant teams understand their roles during production, testing, customer service and issue investigation.

  3. 03

    More Consistent Processes

Defined processes help reduce dependence on individual decisions and support continuity across regular orders.

  4. 04

    Ongoing Review and Improvement

Management systems provide a basis for reviewing performance and improving relevant processes over time.

  5. 05

    Greater Confidence in Supplier Evaluation

Certification information can support customers during supplier qualification and purchasing review.

Important Distinction

Management Certification Is Not Product Certification

It is important to distinguish between management system certification and product-level compliance.

ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certify aspects of MICHEM’s management systems. They do not automatically certify every individual product for every application, standard or country.

Before placing an order, customers should identify the product-level documents or market requirements relevant to their intended application. MICHEM will review the request and confirm which information can be provided for the selected product and project.

What is certified

Management systems

The three ISO standards certify how MICHEM organizes quality, environmental and occupational health and safety responsibilities.

What still depends on the product

Product suitability and compliance

Product suitability and compliance depend on factors such as:

  • The specific product and grade
  • Its intended use
  • The customer’s finished formulation
  • Destination-market requirements
  • Applicable industry standards
  • Import and labeling requirements
  • Customer-specific specifications

Batch-Level Evidence

Product Quality Supported by Batch-Level Evaluation

Certification provides the management framework, while laboratory testing provides product-level evidence.

MICHEM uses both a physical laboratory and an application laboratory to evaluate products.

Evaluation Before Shipment Every batch undergoes physical and application testing before shipment. This connects MICHEM’s certified management systems with practical product-quality evaluation.

Physical Evaluation

Physical testing helps confirm whether a batch aligns with the relevant requirements of its product grade.

Depending on the product, the evaluation may include characteristics such as appearance, moisture, viscosity, pH, solids content, bulk density or other defined properties.

Application Evaluation

Application testing helps determine how a product behaves in a representative formulation or use environment.

The testing focus may include water retention, workability, open time, sag resistance, adhesion, flexibility, flow, setting behavior, air control or water resistance, depending on the product and application.

Evaluation Before Shipment

Every batch undergoes physical and application testing before shipment.

This connects MICHEM’s certified management systems with practical product-quality evaluation.

Technical Files

Technical and Commercial Documentation

Customers may require different documentation during supplier evaluation, product testing, purchasing or import preparation.

Depending on the product and confirmed project scope, MICHEM can coordinate relevant information such as:

Hands sealing an unmarked carton before shipment
Documents coordinated with the confirmed order
  1. 01Management system certification information
  2. 02Product technical data
  3. 03Product specifications
  4. 04Application and usage information
  5. 05Batch-related quality information
  6. 06Packaging and labeling information
  7. 07Commercial order and shipment documents
  8. 08Other agreed technical information

Document availability may vary by product, grade, market and order requirement.

Customers should communicate required documents during the inquiry or product-evaluation stage. This allows MICHEM to review the request before commercial confirmation.

International Markets

Supporting Compliance in Different Markets

MICHEM supplies customers in more than 40 countries. Each destination may have different requirements for chemical imports, product documentation, packaging, labeling and end use.

For this reason, international compliance cannot be managed through one universal document package.

Our team begins by confirming:

Construction workers in high-visibility gear on a concrete slab
Requirements vary by destination and end use
  1. 01The destination country
  2. 02The specific product and grade
  3. 03The intended application
  4. 04The customer’s purchasing requirements
  5. 05Applicable product or industry standards
  6. 06Required language for packaging or documentation
  7. 07Importer or distributor documentation requirements
  8. 08Any customer-specific supplier qualification process

MICHEM then reviews the information available for the selected product and coordinates the applicable documentation within the confirmed project scope.

Customers and local importers should also verify the legal and regulatory requirements that apply within their own markets.

OEM Projects

Compliance Support for OEM Projects

OEM and private-label projects introduce additional requirements because the product will be presented under the customer’s brand.

Before customized packaging enters production, relevant information should be reviewed carefully.

This may include:

Warehouse team moving boxed goods and reviewing inventory on a tablet
  • Customer and brand information
  • Product name and grade
  • Intended application
  • Packaging language
  • Technical statements
  • Product identification
  • Label content
  • Destination-market requirements
  • Other agreed commercial information

MICHEM coordinates the technical product information and customized packaging requirements with the customer.

The customer should provide any market-specific legal text, registration information or mandatory local labeling requirements applicable to its brand and destination.

This shared review helps keep the customized packaging aligned with both the confirmed product and the intended market.

How We Work

Our Documentation Support Process

Technical and quality information should correspond to the actual product grade being evaluated or purchased. This helps prevent general company information from being confused with product-specific documentation.

Team reviewing charts and documents during a project discussion
01

Identify the Product

Confirm the product category, grade and intended application.

If the grade is not yet known, MICHEM’s technical team can assist with product selection first.

02

Define the Destination and Requirements

Provide the destination country and explain which certifications, technical documents or supplier information are required.

03

Review Document Availability

MICHEM reviews the request according to the specific product and project.

If clarification is required, our team will identify which information or requirements need to be confirmed.

04

Match Documents to the Confirmed Product

Technical and quality information should correspond to the actual product grade being evaluated or purchased.

05

Coordinate with the Commercial Order

Packaging, labeling, technical documents and shipment information are reviewed alongside the confirmed order requirements.
