Important Distinction

Management Certification Is Not Product Certification

It is important to distinguish between management system certification and product-level compliance.

ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certify aspects of MICHEM’s management systems. They do not automatically certify every individual product for every application, standard or country.

Before placing an order, customers should identify the product-level documents or market requirements relevant to their intended application. MICHEM will review the request and confirm which information can be provided for the selected product and project.

Batch-Level Evidence

Product Quality Supported by Batch-Level Evaluation

Certification provides the management framework, while laboratory testing provides product-level evidence.

MICHEM uses both a physical laboratory and an application laboratory to evaluate products.

Physical Evaluation

Physical testing helps confirm whether a batch aligns with the relevant requirements of its product grade.

Depending on the product, the evaluation may include characteristics such as appearance, moisture, viscosity, pH, solids content, bulk density or other defined properties.

Application Evaluation

Application testing helps determine how a product behaves in a representative formulation or use environment.

The testing focus may include water retention, workability, open time, sag resistance, adhesion, flexibility, flow, setting behavior, air control or water resistance, depending on the product and application.

Evaluation Before Shipment

Every batch undergoes physical and application testing before shipment.

This connects MICHEM’s certified management systems with practical product-quality evaluation.

Customers may require different documentation during supplier evaluation, product testing, purchasing or import preparation.

Depending on the product and confirmed project scope, MICHEM can coordinate relevant information such as:
